I surely don't, which is why my favorite shows feature characters that can do something other than get a tan on the New Jersey Shore, buy something at a pawn shop, or say yes to the dress. I want to be captivated by a viewing experience that makes me feel like I don't have to deal with everyday BS. Which explains why my favorite shows involve characters that have some sort of unique power or mission. These characters are so extraordinary that they face extraordinary challenges like "how to bring justice to the world" instead of "how to push the garbage can to the side of the house when I'm too lazy to put on my slippers."
Knowing that, it makes sense that as soon as I saw this prompt I looked up some of the my favorite super powers and found which characters had them. Because I really can't decide, here's a few:
- Time travel--Hiro Nakamura from the T.V. show Heroes. I chose him of all the characters with this ability (surprisingly few) because I would rather be pudgy and a bit unsociable than have to fight the X-Men like Trevor Fitzroy.
- Mind control--Lelouch Lamperouge definitely has the coolest form of mental manipulation and I also envy his apparent attractiveness considering he doesn't even need to use his mind control to get every chick to dig him.
- Intelligence and resulting awesomeness--Tony Stark takes the cake here. We all know who he is, but I especially like him because he shows the world how ridiculously cool you could be if you were smart enough to create a new element in your basement.
