Purple Elephants

Hello everyone. My name is Emily Lain, but some of you all may know me as "Ginger". I have lived in Lexington for almost six years, but was born and lived my first ten years in Pittsburgh, PA. GO STEELERS!! I promise I'm not one of those fans that just like them sometimes, I like them ever when they aren't winning. I bleed black and yellow ALL the time! Sorry I haven't quite mastered the whole Go UK thing, I'm still getting used to it. But in advance, "No I didn't watch the UK game last night" I apologize. I live on 12 acres with my three younger brothers, parents, two dogs, and a horse. It takes about 20 minutes or so to get anywhere but I love the area and the country. The only thing I wish I could change is I want an elephant. I know it sounds crazy but elephants are my favorite animal but if I could have one I would be the happiest person EVER. Especially if it was PURPLE! I LOVE the color purple so a purple elephant would be absolutely perfect!!! But back to the important things before high school I went to Edythe J. Hayes Middle School. I'm pretty involved in high school and extracurricular activities in the community, but I won't bore you with my list of activities. You're welcome :)

I am looking forward to Junior year very much so and am excited for all of the opportunities supposedly awaiting me. We'll see how that goes. I really hope to survive this year maintaining the grade-point average that I some how managed to continue to achieve last year, but again we'll see how that goes. Thus far I am enjoying my classes, liking my teachers, and excited to start going to club meetings! Personally, I'm just going to try to survive this year by making it less stressful and lessening the pressure. Especially college, because I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE I WANT TO GO much less what I want to do and just thinking about it gives me a head ache. However everytime I go somewhere a concert, a show, and exhibit I find something new I want to do. For instance today my family and I went to the circus (there were elephants there :) and I was very happy) and now all I want to do is be part of the circus! Whether it be in the band (because I have played the cello for seven years) or be a doctor (what I think I want to do) or help with the elephants (elephants <3). As you can see I don't make decisions very easily.

Over the summer I feel like I didn't do much. I did a lot at the beginning but then I kind of stopped after the 4th of July. Probably the most meaningful thing I did was visit colleges. I went to Indianapolis and Dallas to look as some of my favorite schools. I also had a lot of family time which was really nice since my brothers seem to be growing up so fast :(

The question of superpowers is one that is asked often and I would have to say it would either be the ability to read people's minds or invisibility. Both would have both good and bad aspects, so maybe I would want the ability to be immune to everyone else's powers. Like they couldn't use them on me or I could see through them. Thats what I want!! My favorite website would have to be http://www.cnn.com . It may sound totally lame, but it's the only way I know whats going on in the world. When my dad set up my computer he set the CNN website as my homepage and its been there ever since. So ever time I get on the interenet thats the first thing I see. But besides CNN my most website besides Facebook and Twitter (follow me #EmilyLain) is http://www.hulu.com . I watch EVERYTHING on Hulu. I just can't watch regular TV anymore!
