A "Little" About Me!

Greetings! I am Cullen Smith, and this is the first blog post that I have ever done...pretty cool, right? I'm not sure if I get the jist of this assignment, but oh well, here goes!
One thing I love to be is involved, wherever I am. I would definitely describe myself as someone who hates sitting home and doing nothing. At Henry Clay, I am involved in the Academic Team, the Young Republicans, Student Council (I am junior class Vice-President!), the Latin Club (which I am President of!), I used to be in the Symphonic Band, and I am involved in the drama department. The spring production of "Wit", where I was a student with eight lines (!!), was my theatrical debut. Pretty exciting, right?

At the moment, I am learning to be a better driver, which is quite a challenge for me, and as I would guess, for everyone! I got my permit in April, almost exactly one month from my birthday (March 30th) because I was studying and stressing over the test; and because I was in Italy. Let me now gush about my wonderful experience in Italy!!

Italy is easily the most beautiful (and preserved) country in the world. Rome was magnificent, Venice was like nothing I had ever seen before, and I could have easily ridden on the Amalfi Coast for the rest of my life. I'm serious! Italy's really cool because one minute you see a guy get off a moped and go into a pizza place and then the next minute you see the ruins of a structure that's thousands of years old. I have posted a picture (not taken by me) of San Gimignano, which is a small town in Tuscany, and it is very easily the most peaceful and beautiful city on Earth. I wish I could post pics of all of my favorite places in Italy, but there just simply isn't enough space!

But enough about Italia: let's come back into the present. I hope that in this class I will become a better writer, because I go on and on about ideas that I am passionate about (like now). But I also hope that I will gain a better appreciation for writing, which I can tell already that I will.

I know that almost half of the Academy will tell you they want to be a doctor, but it is seriously something that I want to do with my life. All around me I see people that are struggling for a doctor to cure them of diseases that keep them from enjoying life, and I legitimately want to help them!

And finally, I suppose I have to post the link to favorite website.....

My favorite website is definitely ibc-lex.org, because it is my church's website, and my church is extremely important to me!

Thank you, sayonara, and good night!
