Technology

As a fan of technology, I can see that it has had positive and negative impacts on society, including me. When people use technology it can be for practical purposes such as reaching someone hundreds of miles away with your cellphone or printing off multiple copies of handouts to pass out. But others, such as texting instead of talking to someone right in front of you, or staying on facebook for more than a healthy amount of hours really makes someone question where technology is leading us.
Technology has somewhat hindered me in some ways. Sometimes my internet connection breaks and I have to complete an assignment online or access information, it becomes annoying and makes me question what is wrong with a paper and pencil assignment in the first place. Or maybe when needed to complete a problem with a calculator in math but the batteries are out of juice. Granted it's better to have the technology in the first place, so I'm not complaining but I see it as people should use technology to help ourselves and not let it control us. Even with people seeing all this technology as negative I still see it improving our lives daily. We can communicate with each other so much faster and do things that we could never have done twenty years before. It's a gift that we have but need to manage it more wisely.
