its fb official!

Technology has been wonderfully advanced during my lifetime, and I cannot imagine my life without it. I’ve grown up in a generation that considers cell phones an extension of their body, just another part of themselves. And I fall into this category as well, at times when I’m not able to have my cell phone I feel like I’m forgetting something, like something is missing from me, and I find myself constantly checking my pockets for the nonexistent phone. I don’t find technology hurtful to myself specifically, but I have noticed one downfall in particular of this new technology: it makes a person’s personal life far, far too public. Facebook and Twitter and other social networks bring out aspects of a person’s life that otherwise were privy to just them and maybe a few close others. Probably most apparent is the fact that the validity of a relationship is now based on whether it’s “facebook official”. This is the only downfall however, and I absolutely love my technology immersed life otherwise!
